Gorzelanny (1-2) allowed only three hits and struck out four in eight innings, his longest stint of the season. Storen struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning to earn his sixth save.
Washington broke open a scoreless game with two runs in the seventh inning against starter and loser Madison Bumgarner (0-5). Michael Morse singled in the first run and Jerry Hairston Jr. drove in the second with a double. Bumgarner struck out seven and allowed only five hits in seven innings.
